Kit checklist

Kit checks to be done BEFORE each match

  • Remember it is your responsibility to make sure you remember all your kit.
  • If there are any items you need to borrow from the Club please let us know BEFORE the first league match.
  • At every league match a league technical officer does a kit check on every player. If you do not have ALL the correct equipment IN GOOD CONDITION you will not be allowed to play.
  • Here is the full list of all kit that you will need for league matches.
    • Helmet with cage or visor
    • Throat / neck guard
    • Body armour (chest / shoulder protection)
    • Skates (must have white stick tape wrapped around the actual boot – to prevent floor marking)
    • Hockey stick (must have white stick tape wrapped around the end on top of a butt-cap)
    • Elbow pads
    • Gloves
    • Padded shorts
    • Abdominal box
    • Shin guards
    • Skates (can be In-lines or Quads)
  • Checks to be done BEFORE each match
    • Your sticks should be checked:-
      stick ends are securely taped with white stick tape all wooden sticks / heads are checked for any splinters – if there are any they must be taped with white stick tape.
    • Check your helmet for loose screws / missing chin straps.
    • Check any Velcro fastenings are securely sewn.
    • Check there are no loose screws on your skates
  • Last but most important – most of your kit should be washed in the washing machine on a low-temperature cycle after each match – keeping your kit clean will help it to last longer, and smell nicer!
  • Items such as helmets, gloves, shorts and large size body armour can be hand washed or sprayed with an anti-bacterial cleaner
